Who Qualifies for Hospice Care?
Hospice care is appropriate for individuals of any age who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and whose physician has determined that, if the illness follows its expected course, the patient has a prognosis of six months or less to live. Common diagnoses include cancer, heart disease, dementia, COPD, kidney failure, ALS, and many others.
Choosing hospice does not mean giving up. Many patients stabilize and continue on hospice beyond six months. Hospice can also be discontinued at any time if a patient chooses to pursue curative treatment again.

Frequent hospitalizations or ER visits with declining results
Significant weight loss or loss of appetite
Increased pain, difficulty breathing, or other unmanaged symptoms
Decreased ability to perform daily activities or communicate

Medicare Part A covers hospice care in full for eligible beneficiaries, including nursing visits, medications, equipment, and more — at no cost to the patient.
Medi-Cal
California's Medi-Cal program provides comprehensive hospice benefits for qualifying individuals, ensuring access to care for those who need it most.
HMOs & Private Insurance
Many managed care organizations and private health insurance plans include hospice benefits. Our team will verify your coverage and handle the paperwork.
Private Pay
